Meeting reflection

We had a practice meeting about a month ago and my position was the note taker. My role is to take note and ideas that are said in the meeting in other words summarizing everything that went on the meeting.

The meeting went good actually it was great everybody gave his opinion and ideas about the subject. The weak points are that we weren’t well prepared for it and we didn’t have enough points though we finished in time, actually it was kind of fast that I didn’t have time to take enough notes about the meeting. I’ve learned how to organize a meeting, how many positions you have in a meeting, how to communicate with everybody in the meeting and give everyone time to give his idea or opinion about a particular point within the time limit. 

In the future I will organize everything before calling for a meeting, like prepare an outline about what we will talk about and the points about the subject. A better idea is recording the meeting so we can look at it later for some missing point or idea the note taker forgot to write.

Abdulla’s topic was about the s.m.a.r.t tunnel in Indonesia and how does the tunnel works. He had a nice introduction about the tunnel and gave us some facts about Indonesia and the reason of why they came up with the idea. The topic was interesting he kept our attention with him. He wasn’t standing in front of the screen and he voice wasn’t a monotone so we didn’t sleep and he was loud and clear for everyone to hear him. He kept using eye contact which shows that he is confident and knows what he is talking about. Also he used a note to remember his points but didn’t read from it.

The presentation was well organized and he delivered every point. The background was good it wasn’t so dark nor bright. The text was big enough for people to see. There weren’t a lot of words and there were several bullet points which are a good thing so he doesn’t lose our attention. This presentation was a semi-formal so he didn’t have any animations in the power point. The visual was good and it gave us an idea of how does the tunnel looks like.

In conclusion the presentation was well presented , his voice was clear, good information, good gesture, the topic was interesting and gave us couple of good points like how is the tunnel built and how it is used.
