personal reflection

Personal reflection

In this course I have learned how to communicate with people. I have learned how to prepare a presentation by of course getting the information first, and then make an outline so people have an idea of what I will talk about and it also helps me to organize. I also saw some video links that was given by my professor on how we present eye contact, the gesture, no monotone and a lot more. Then comes the power point it should be clear, enough information for people to read, nice visuals, font size for people to be able to read.
The first time I presented was not that good I had a lot of pauses didn’t organize my information well I was a bit nervous. The second time there was still pauses but much less than the first time, I have learned to use note though even in the second time a didn’t use notes, I organized my information. What helped me the second time is that I practiced before so I went well prepared. In the end it was good I felt good though I think I need more and more presentations to do to feel comfortable.
I have learnt to learn the language you must speak the language. And with more practice you will have better results . come well prepare or everything will clash on you. Never be negative always have a positive attitude it will help you when u face your fears.

Presentation summary

Presenters: Saif Al Marzouqi
                    Zaid Al Maskari
Venue: J30
Date and Time: 30/12/2010 – from  11:00am till 11:15am
Saif ‘s and Zaid’s topic was about the oil spill how does it happens, what is the effect of oil spill and what is the solutions. There introduction was good they gave us facts about the oil spill. Saif was confident while Zaid was a bit nervous. They both used eye contact and there gestures was good. Saif was more organized with his information than Zaid but Saif looked at his notes a lot. Zaid in the other hand didn’t have notes but paused a lot to remember his information. For a person of their level they did great. They weren’t standing in front of the screen. The delivery was well they didn’t have a monotone.
The power point was good. The visuals was nice and clear, the background wasn’t so dark nor bright, the font wasn’t so big the size was big enough to see and there was enough information in the power point for us to read. It was well organized
In conclusion they did good the power point was good they could have done better if they practiced before. With more and more practice come good results.
